Every business is born from an idea. After watching the United States go in the wrong direction during the first Trump Administration, and the way things continue to go in the wrong direction during the second Trump Administration, I thought of what ways that I could make a nonviolent difference.
Let’s face it congress is a mess and the Democrats have no clear solutions to counter what is happening in this country. Calling representatives or writing letters sounds nice in all, but let’s face it, it does not do anything.
So, I have come up with a number of edgy graphic t-shirts, that push the boundaries to get under the skin of our Republican “friends”. Also, it allows me to get out some of the frustration of the current state of the country and events that are taking place.
Over 20 years ago I came up with the name A Plastic Nation. This was thought up while seeing how social norms, beliefs, and attitudes have shifted towards the fakeness of life, i.e. plastic surgery, “reality tv”, people doing anything and everything for clicks and money, and all the lies. The saying “fake is plastic” means someone is artificial, insincere or not genuine. This becomes truer and truer each day, especially with Trump in office. He is the Plastic President, his artificial orange skin, his insincerities to anyone of that is a different ethnicity, sex, or whom disagree with him, etc. All of the lies that he constantly tells and taking advantage of anyone that he can, including his own supporters.
My business is just starting as of May of 2025. We source our shirts generally from shirtspace.com. Graphics for the shirts are designed by myself as well as some artists I use all around the world. The graphics are heat pressed at my home in Florida and shipped from this location.
I have a full-time job aside from this business. As the business grows, we will begin to add additional political graphic t-shirts, stickers, and hats. I also have ideas for a complete graphic t-shirt line based on dogs.
Lastly, as I have a full-time job and I am doing this to make a difference and as an outlet for my own frustration, we will be donating 30% or more of the annual profits from the business to a number of nonprofit organizations including:
All Sato Rescue This is an organization that rescues, rehomes and addresses the overpopulation of Satos in Puerto Rico. A “Sato” is a Puerto Rican street dog. This organization is dear to my heart as my first dog, Tuukka is a Sato. Tuukka, was named after the Boston Bruins goaltender, Tuukka Rask. Tuukka, always enjoys hikes in nature, basking in the sun, and watching the pure beauty of a sunset at the beach or on the boat.
Operation Pets Alive https://operationpetsalive.org This is another animal rescue out of Montgomery County, Texas. I was fortunate enough to adopt Lola, a White German Shepherd, through NorthEast Animal Shelter in Salem, MA. Lola is the sweetest girl, she is my girl and I am forever grateful to have her and the bond that we have.
National Parks Conservation Association This organization works to advocate and protect our National Parks. There is no truer beauty than mother nature. It is important that we protect these parks, wildlife, and the environment as much as we can, we owe it to ourselves, future generations as well as the wildlife who has the right to live and survive. We as a civilization find ourselves lost in many ways with the constant hustle/bustle of life, responsibilities, advertisements, money, expectations and responsibilities. Go take a walk in nature, listen to the trees, the waterfalls, the birds chirping. Watch nature’s interaction, the clouds overhead and the sun rising or setting. You find peace, energy and a level of clarity that you can’t find anywhere else.
